Glass Backsplash Installation Guide

Every panel can be ordered with one of these mounting options. The right one depends on your wall and on whether you want a drill-free installation.

Choose a mounting option

  • High-Bond Tape: quick and drill-free. For smooth, flat, clean walls such as painted drywall, old tile or existing glass.
  • Silicone: a permanent bond that also fills small unevenness in the wall.
  • Tape + Silicone: the tape holds the panel in place immediately while the silicone cures, giving the strongest drill-free result.
  • Mounting Holes and Screws: pre-drilled holes for a mechanical fixing. The holes are made before the glass is tempered, so this has to be chosen when you order.
  • None: no fixing material included, if you already have your own.

Before you start

  • Check the panel as soon as it arrives. If it is damaged, do not install it: send us photos within 48 hours for a free replacement.
  • Clean the wall and remove grease and dust. Tape and silicone need a clean, dry, flat surface.
  • Hold the panel against the wall first and mark its position with painter's tape. Ask a second person to help with large panels.

Installing with tape and/or silicone

  1. Lay the panel face down on a soft cloth.
  2. Apply the tape strips and/or beads of silicone to the back, keeping them a little in from the edges so nothing squeezes out.
  3. Line the panel up with your marks and press it firmly against the wall, starting from the centre.
  4. Support the bottom edge (for example with small spacers on the counter) until the silicone has cured. Follow the curing time on the silicone you use.

If you buy your own silicone, choose a neutral-cure silicone that is suitable for glass or mirrors, and avoid acid-cure (vinegar smell) silicone on the printed side.

Installing with screws

Mark the hole positions through the panel or from the template, drill the wall with plugs suited to your wall type, and fix the panel without over-tightening the screws against the glass.

Care

Wipe the panel with a soft cloth and a regular glass cleaner. Avoid abrasive pads and scrapers.
